Sheffield Flourish shows why artistic freedom is the best way to deal with wellbeing this mental health awareness month.

When dealing with personal struggles, Flourish highlights the value of creative expression for your wellbeing.

Through their CAST (creative arts support team) workshops, they run a variety of groups aimed at creating a community for people to feel welcome and safe in.

Sara Sanderson, Information Coordinator at Flourish, said: “You don’t have to be struggling with your mental health, it’s about knowing this is a place where everyone is welcome.”

They ensure lived experience is at the heart of their work, and believe personal approaches to support proves more successful, compared to clinical.

Marking this year’s mental health awareness week theme of Action, which took place from 11 to 17 May, Uproute uncovered how Flourish embodies this the whole year round.
